Second-graders have been studying communities. Most recently they discussed their school community. After reading Daniel Pinkwater's book, "The Big Orange Splot," the students designed the school of their dreams. A line from the end of the book was modified to guide the lesson. "Our school is us and we are it. Southeast is where we like to learn and it looks like all our dreams."
