10 things I love about the spring issue of the Oxford American
7. Indignation at finding Daniel Pinkwater's Alan Mendelsohn, the Boy from Mars in a list of 10 great out-of-print books. ("A marvelous comic fantasy that presents its marvels without any of the usual YA razzle-dazzle, about two odd-duck friends and their adventures in cigar smoking mind control, interdimensional travel, and extraordinarily hot chili.") Earlier this month, friend and books editor Rachel tweeted how Pinkwater's Lizard Music was back in print, and I was indignant it had ever gone out. Support your libraries, folks. They're what you've got.
I don't know that Lizard Music ever went out of print, except that the in-print it was in was a bad covered paperback. Alan Mendelsohn is easily gettable via 5 Novels, and without its original bad cover.
Lizards stuff
