The Pinkwater Blog

Saturday, March 12, 2011

I would love to see a bona fide fantasy that is not melodramatic. Teresa mentioned that Twilight may, in fact, be a fantasy-romantic-comedy. I think there’s a virgin gold mine in such a genre. Daniel Pinkwater and Terry Pratchett do it in their books
Twilight?

I forget if it was Daniel Shore or Daniel Pinkwater but one of them used to deliver editorials that would shoot blood out my ears. And of course, it was presented on "All Things Considered" NPR's big news program.
If you like the sensation, I'll say Pinkwater, if not -- it must've been Shore.

Afterlife Diet has its notables.

Devil in the Drain, by Daniel J Pinkwater. J?

This is a no thrills blog, updated now and again, devoted mostly to link-dumping Pinkwater-related bits and pieces I happen upon online. The reason for the blog is that updating my "page of comprehensive links" has proven a bit unwieldy, and this blog stream-lines the process. Please enjoy.
