New Edition of Lizard MusicLIZARD MUSIC
Daniel Pinkwater
The New York Review Children's Collection,
$15.95, 157 pages
Pinkwater is a beloved children's author who also writes for adults and entertains them with his witty essays on National Public Radio. "Lizard Music," published in 1976, was the first novel he wrote for children and remains his favorite. It's being made into a movie by Joel Hopkins ("Last Chance Harvey"), but this is no movie tie-in edition. It's a beautiful binding from The New York Review Children's Collection that includes Pinkwater's illustrations.
See if the rest of the "gift guide" (suspiciously looks like gifts to fit taste of giftee) fits your mood against "Cat Whiskered"
Wolf Christmas
... but, you understand, there is this weird age of childhood which beckons where their book taste is something like a tie - in to the latest cartoon.
